Where We Love to Eat
One of the true pleasures of visiting South West France is discovering its wonderful local restaurants. Whether you're looking for a relaxed riverside lunch, a traditional village bistro, an elegant evening meal or a cosy café, you'll find plenty of excellent places to eat within easy reach of Domaine La Gazaille de Camille.
We've included a selection of restaurants that we enjoy ourselves, along with a few others that are highly regarded by locals and our guests. We hope you'll discover a favourite of your own during your stay.
During the summer months, don't miss the region's much-loved Marchés Gourmands (night food markets). These lively open-air evenings bring together local producers, food stalls, winemakers and musicians in village squares throughout Lot-et-Garonne. Simply choose your meal from the many stalls, find a seat at the communal tables and enjoy a relaxed evening of delicious food, local wine and live entertainment under the stars.
They offer a wonderful taste of French village life and are an experience not to be missed. Don’t forget to bring your own plate and cutlery — but don’t worry, we can provide some for you!
A little local tip: In rural France, many restaurants are small, family-run establishments and tables can fill up surprisingly quickly — especially during weekends, public holidays and the summer season. We strongly recommend booking your table in advance to avoid disappointment. Some restaurants also have limited opening days or close for annual holidays, so it's always worth checking before setting off.
And finally, remember you're on holiday. If you're hesitating over dessert, the answer is almost certainly yes!
Le Temple-sur-Lot
Just five minutes from the Domaine, Le Temple-sur-Lot offers several excellent dining options, making it perfect after a visit to the famous Latour-Marliac Water Lily Gardens or a stroll through the historic village.

Traditional French cuisine served beside the historic Commandery. A lovely choice for lunch or dinner with a welcoming atmosphere and generous regional dishes.

Perfect for relaxed family meals with pizzas, burgers and homemade dishes.
And if you’ve had a long day exploring and really don’t feel like going out again, Comme à la Maison also offers takeaway and delivery to Domaine La Gazaille de Camille.
So you can put your feet up, open a bottle of wine and have dinner brought to you. Sometimes that sounds like a very good plan indeed.
